Developing a Mission Statement

Page history last edited by Ceresi Lupin 14 years, 11 months ago

This page will serve as a place for us to develop our mission statement. At the moment, the introduction to the site states, "this wiki was created as a storehouse for charts relating to character demographics -- how many characters were female, how many were persons of color, and how often they talked to each other about things other than men/white people. It's still in early stages, but we hope it can act as archive and inspiration for more discussions on the subject!"

Our Current Mission Statement

We don't have one yet! Questions, contributions, or recommendations? Feel free to leave a comment below or email Ceresi -- although editing pages is restricted to anyone with a PBwiki account (which can be created here), anybody with an interest is welcome to participate. (Translation: come help us make charts, everyone, it's awesome!)

First comment. :P

I've never created a mission statement before, so I'm a bit in the dark here. I'll try to do some research by tomorrow into statements from other sites with similar goals, but for now I'm trying to think of what we should include (although some of this might fall into a more general area than the mission statement itself, maybe site policies or something). We obviously need to state who we are, why we created this site, what the content of the site encompasses, and what we hope to accomplish by publishing it online and making it openly-editable. Also, we'll need to discuss the licensing of the content and whether, how, and by who it can be reused.

That doesn't look like much right now but I suspect it could get pretty lengthy. Anything else?
